Hoof Testers:

The primary use of hoof testers is to check for pain or discomfort in the horse’s hooves. By gently squeezing or pinching specific areas of the hoof, a veterinarian, farrier, or horse owner can observe the horse’s reaction. If the horse flinches or withdraws its hoof in response to the applied pressure, it indicates a problem in that particular area.
