These are the most basic amalgam carrier guns and are operated manually. Dentists or dental assistants load the dental amalgam into the gun, typically using a capsule or syringe. Then a plunger or trigger mechanism is used to express and pack the amalgam into the prepared tooth cavity. These are often considered the traditional method.
